Here is the Top 6 NBA Players under 28 Years Old:
- Luka Doncic, Dallas Mavericks
One of the games brightest stars since being acquired by the Dallas Mavericks in a draft day trade that saw him drafted third overall Atlanta Hawks during the 2018 NBA draft has been Luka Doncic. As a rookie Doncic surprised the NBA in route to winning the NBA Rookie of the Year award. His success continued over the past two seasons making both All-Star teams while continuing to demonstrate his ability to score, make plays, grab rebounds and set up his teammates. Over his young career, Doncic became the first teenager to post a 30 point triple double, two triple doubles before the age of 20 and has averaged 25.5 points per game, 8.5 rebounds per game and 7.6 assists per game.
- Trae Young, Atlanta Hawks
Slotted in just behind Doncic, is the Atlanta Hawks superb guard Trae Young who was also drafted during the 2018 NBA draft. These two players were swapped in a draft day trade that saw the Hawks send Doncic to the Mavericks for Young and a future 1st round pick. Young continues to demonstrate his ability to score and set up his teammates. As a rookie Young averaged 19.1 points per game to go along with 8.1 assists per game while earning on a spot on the NBA All-Rookie First team. As a sophomore Young was selected to the NBA All-Star team and finished the season averaging 29.6 points per game to go along with 9.3 assists per game and 4.3 rebounds per game.
- Devin Booker, Phoenix Suns
The longest tenured star and the oldest player on this list is the Phoenix Suns Devin Booker who was drafted with the 13th pick during the 2015 NBA Draft. Since entering the NBA Booker has been a talented and bright young star on a Suns team that has lacked a ton of talent. Despite the struggles of the Suns, Booker has not slowed down making two NBA All-Star teams, the All-Rookie First team and has quietly been one of the more consistent players around the NBA. After averaging 13.8 points a game as a rookie, Booker has averaged at least 22 points a game in the previous five seasons while posting a career 22.7 points per game mark to go along with a 3.6 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game.
- Ja Morant, Memphis Grizzlies
Coming in at number four is the Memphis Grizzlies young star Ja Morant who the team selected with the number two overall pick during the 2019 NBA draft after putting together a tremendous college career at Murray State. Morant put together a brilliant rookie season during the 2019-2020 NBA season despite the interruption due to the ongoing pandemic. In 67 games, Morant averaged 17.8 points a game to go along with 3.9 rebounds and 7.3 assists per game. His success on the floor while leading all rookies in assists per game and scoring the most points helped earn him the NBA Rookie of the Year award and a spot on the 2020 NBA All-Rookie First team while showcasing his playmaking ability from his first game on the court.
- Zion Williamson, New Orleans Pelicans
One debate can easily be made after an injury plagued rookie season is that Zion Williamson has the talent and skills to be as high as number one on this list. After selecting Williamson with the first pick during the 2019 NBA draft has slowly become the household name with the New Orleans Pelicans. In 24 games last season Williamson averaged 22.5 per game while recording 6.3 assists per game and 2.1 assists per game. However, despite the solid numbers Williamson battled injuries and never really had a chance to showcase his true talent for an entire NBA season. That has all changed in his sophomore season as he is averaging more points, more assists and more rebounds per game while making his first NBA All-Star team.
