Below is our list of the top six scorers in the NBA this season. We factored in scoring averages, shooter percentage, and overall style of play. Some incredible scorers missed out on the list, but we believe these are the six best!
Top 6 best NBA Scorers of all time....

1.Jordan
2.Wilt Chamberlain
3.Allen Iverson
4.Kobe Bryant
5.Shaquille O’Neal
6.KD or LeBron
Here are our top six list of the top NBA scorers for the 2022-23 season:
1. Luka Doncic
Doncic leads the NBA in scoring, averaging 33.2 while making over half of his shots. The Slovenian guard has scored over 50 points four times so far this season. That includes a career-high 60-point performance against the Knicks in December.
Though only 23, he has become a master scorer by using his size to his advantage. Doncic can is a great three-point shooter, but can also score from anywhere on the court. He is quick and one of the league's better passers, keeping opposing defenses honest.
The Maverick's lack of stars around him is a reason for his scoring dominance. With Kyrie Irving now in Dallas, we'll see if Doncic's scoring drops off a bit as he grows with his new teammate.
2. Kevin Durant
While Durant has been out with injuries in the first half, he remains one of the top scorers in the NBA.
Durant has become an NBA legend thanks to his ability to score wherever he has played. While he is as tall as most power forwards, Durant can dribble and shoot as well as any guard in the league.
KD also has the speed to go from the three-point line to the basket in the blink of an eye. Though he is now a veteran coming close to the end of his career, teams still struggle to find ways to contain him.
With Durant now in Phoenix, expect his scoring to help the Suns contend for a championship this season.
3. Jayson Tatum
Tatum is now in his sixth season in the NBA and has increased his scoring in each. He is currently averaging just over 30 points this season, leading Boston to the league's best record.
A big reason for his steadily increasing scoring is his ability to shoot the three. He's improved each season and now takes an average of nine per game.
Tatum is not limited to shooting the three, as his size and frame allow him to score from anywhere on the court. He also benefits from one of the league's best rosters, taking away opponents' ability to double-team him.
4. LeBron James
King James was the greatest scorer in the league for love a decade but now falls to number four on this list. While he gets older, the legend still scores over 30 points per game
This stat is even more impressive when you consider he's having one of his worst seasons shooting the three. That means he's scoring by creating mid-range shots and driving to the basket.
While other players are averaging more points, only a handful is more feared by opponents than James.
Injuries have been mounting for Lebron, meaning his days on this list could be numbered. Until then, enjoy watching one of the greatest scorers in history still play at a high level.
5. Giannis Antetokounmpo
The only reason Giannis isn't higher on this list is his inability to shoot from distance. Even without that ability, the former MVP averages 32.5 points per game.
Giannis can dominate opponents because of his ridiculous athleticism and size. While he near seven feet tall, he is as quick and agile as more guards in the league. This also allows him to use the "euro-step", which helps him get from the top of the key to the basket in just two quick steps.
His numbers are impressive because he is one of the league's worst free-throw and three-point shooters.
6. Joel Embiid
Embiid could easily be higher on this list, as he is currently the leagues second-leading scorer with 33.2 points per game. He falls to six due to his limited three-point shooting and points coming from the charity stripe.
Still, there is no denying that Embiid is don't of the league's most dominant scorers. At seven feet tall, he can dominate most opponents down low. this has led him to make over 53% of his shots this season.
Unlike Giannis, Embiid can be a reliable free-throw shooter, which helps add to his point total. That ability also forces defenses to be careful not to foul or use the "hack-a-Shaw" strategy often employed against Giannis.
Embiid is only 28, so expect to see him remain on this list for years to come.
